Hooray! We’ve made it to the end! 🥳
The last Thing we have for you is Thing 10: Digital Storytelling which explores ways we can expand storytelling into the digital realm. We’ll also be discussing media elements you can utilise in all aspects of your life and how digital storytelling relates to marketing.
The related Things for this week are Fake News – how prevalent it is and how you can identify and verify it – and Accessibility – the concepts of digital accessibility and ways to build a more accessible digital world.
It has been quite a journey making our way through 23 Things, so thank you for accompanying us on our digital adventure this far.
Keep up the great work!
The Weekly Facebook Challenge – Make a Twine Story
The final challenge we have for you is this week’s creative task: ‘Make a Twine story’. Twinery is an open-source tool for telling interactive, nonlinear stories resembling the flow of ‘choose your own adventure’ games. For some handy tips on how and where to start, check out ‘5 Steps to Create Interactive Story Games with Twine’.
Let us know how you go on over at the Curtin Makers Facebook group.
Note from Chief
I can’t believe this is the last week! It’s hard to imagine that Thing 1 was released only a few months ago and now we’re releasing our last module, Thing 10.
What a roller coaster ride it has been from Kris’ copyright debacle to 3D printing D&D characters to the disco fiasco with Akiko malfunctioning. Reflecting on it all, it has been a tiring but rewarding journey. I believe I speak for the rest of the Certitude team when I say – it’s about time we all take a well-deserved break.
Just a few reminders before I sign off for the last time this year, to catch up with or get the latest news on Certitude or 23 Things, the Certitude blog is the place to be. Last week, Samaira has written about the Micro:bits challenge and
Grandpa “Hackerman” Freddie has shared his creation of Freddie’s Calculator 2.0 in his Reflections of Thing 8: Basic Coding.
Though this feels like the end, this does not mark the end of our digital learning journey. As all Things have been released, feel free to explore or re-visit them whenever wherever you like.
We’ll be back again next year!
