Reflections on Thing 2

posted in: News | 8

Charlie, as per usual, got me to do another task for her this week – a promotional video for 23 Things. In all honesty, I had no idea what I was doing, but the ‘Video Editing’ module got me thinking about some nifty tricks to try, and through to the finish line.

I used ‘Stop Motion Studio’ on one of the office iPads and Jose’s Lego collection, which he keeps at work (don’t ask), to make a stop motion video. I created it backwards and then reversed the clip, which was a little challenging. I also realised that after exporting it my fingers were showing in half the frames…guess that’s something to watch out for next time.

I’m fairly happy with the result, although as you can probably tell, there’s lots of room for improvement. Go easy on me in the comments!

Hey Kris, creating the video backwards made it easy to include that backmasking message in the soundtrack. Good thinking.

Sure sure Kris, that’s right, there is no soundtrack, wink wink. The secret message is safe with me.

Glad my Lego came in handy. I believe Lego should be mandatory in every workplace 🙂

Well done Kris – I knew you would rise to the challenge! Perhaps you could add a phrase about what 23 Things is, like for example, “build your digital skills”.
